Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Alex Holmes has been the Chairman and CEO of MoneyGram International, Inc. since January 2016. MoneyGram is the leader in cross-border P2P payments and money transfers with over 80% global brand awareness and a presence in over 200 countries and territories. Under his leadership, MoneyGram has embarked on a digital transformation and customer-centric shift to lead the evolution of digital P2P payments.
Over the last four years, Holmes has led strategic initiatives to completely overhaul the company’s legacy technology systems, build a direct-to-consumer digital channel, invest in international market expansion, develop the world’s best compliance engine, and modernize the operating model to streamline and digitize the organization.
Today, Holmes is leading the next iteration of the MoneyGram journey to leverage its modern, mobile, and API-driven platform and collaborate with the world's leading brands to serve millions of people each year through both its walk-in business and its direct-to-consumer digital business. He and his leadership team are also focused on building the business model of the future and developing new revenue streams to build the next growth engine for the company.
Holmes joined MoneyGram in 2009 as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Investor Relations. In 2012, he advanced to the role of Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. He then added the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer in 2014 before being named the CEO in January 2016.
Prior to MoneyGram, Holmes spent almost nine years at First Data Corporation where he held a variety of positions including Chief of Staff to the CEO, Head of Investor Relations, Senior Vice President of Global Sourcing & Strategic Initiatives, and Regional Director of [the] Benelux region for Western Union.
Outside of work, Holmes serves on the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business Board of Alumni & Friends and is on the board of Vogel Alcove, a non-profit organization with a mission to help young children overcome the lasting and traumatic effects of homelessness. He is also a member of LoneStar Young Presidents Organization.

Brian Johnson was named Chief Financial Officer in August 2022. Previously, he was Head of Corporate Finance and Global Treasurer, where he oversaw all treasury, financial planning and analysis ("FP&A"), pricing and M&A activity. He joined MoneyGram in July 2018 as Head of Corporate FP&A and M&A, responsible for overseeing the Company's corporate FP&A function and M&A activity.
Prior to joining MoneyGram, Johnson was a Managing Director at Commerce Street Capital where he advised clients on acquisitions and divestitures. His professional experience also includes tenures with Hudson Advisors/Lone Star Funds and Bear Stearns.
Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Valuation Analyst designations.

Anna Greenwald was named Chief Operating Officer in August 2022. Previously, she was Chief Readiness Officer, where she was responsible for leading the Company's go-to-market strategy, agent network oversight and engagement and global regulatory exam readiness. She joined MoneyGram in 2011, previously holding positions in the Product, Technology and Operations departments.
Prior to joining MoneyGram, Greenwald worked for Boston Scientific, Qumu and other leading technology companies where she led business model transformation, global expansion initiatives, managed merger activities and oversaw compliance remediation efforts.
Greenwald holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado, a Master of Science from Metropolitan State University, and a Bachelor of Science from Minnesota State University.

Chief Revenue Officer
Grant Lines was named MoneyGram’s Chief Revenue Officer in January 2018 after serving as the company’s chief revenue officer for the AMEAP, Russia and CIS regions for three years.
Lines joined MoneyGram as senior vice president, Asia Pacific, South Asia and Middle East in February 2013. Prior to that, Lines served as general manager of Black Label Solutions, a leading developer and supplier of computerized retail Point of Sale systems from May 2011 to December 2012.
His previous experience also includes several leadership roles at First Data Corporation, a global payment processing company, most recently as managing director of First Data Corporation's ANZ business September 2008 to February 2011. Lines also served as senior vice president of First Data's Strategic Business Development and general manager of ASEAN, establishing Asian operations in Singapore from June 2004 to August 2008, and senior vice president with sales and marketing responsibilities in Australia and New Zealand from October 2000 to May 2004.

Andres Villareal was named MoneyGram’s Chief Compliance Officer in March 2016. He joined the company in April 2015 as senior vice president and deputy chief compliance officer. Villareal leads MoneyGram's global compliance efforts addressing federal, state and international laws.
Prior to joining MoneyGram, he spent more than 25 years serving in various compliance, legal and business roles in a variety of industries including financial services, banking and insurance. Villareal served as managing director at Citigroup, where he was global head of compliance for Citi Commercial Bank, and previously was chief compliance officer for Citi Assurance Services, a captive credit insurance company.
Villareal earned his J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin. He also is a graduate of the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics. Villareal serves on the board of directors for Girls Incorporated of Metropolitan Dallas, and is a member of the North Texas Ethics and Compliance Council.

Robert L. Villaseñor has served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since January 2020 and had served as interim General Counsel and Corporate Secretary from October 2019 to January 2020. He was appointed Chief Administrative Officer in February 2021.
Villaseñor joined MoneyGram International, Inc. in July 2018 as Associate General Counsel, Corporate & Securities and Assistant Secretary. In that role he oversaw the Corporate Securities and M&A legal function for the Company. Villaseñor has over 20 years of experience representing public companies on a broad range of legal issues including public reporting, lending and capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, investments and various commercial matters.
Most recently, Villaseñor worked in the Corporate & Securities Group at Starbucks Corporation from 2012 to 2018. Prior to Starbucks he served as the chief corporate & securities attorney at two other public companies. He began his career in private practice at the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP working in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and capital markets.
Villaseñor holds a J.D., cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. with Honors in Political Science from the University of Texas at El Paso. He served in the United States Naval Reserve from 1992-2000.

Larry Angelilli was appointed Executive Vice Chairman in August 2022. Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer, where he oversaw all finance, accounting and treasury related functions including investor relations.
Angelilli joined MoneyGram in August 2011 as Senior Vice President, Treasurer, bringing more than 30 years of financial services and treasury experience to the company. In that role, he was responsible for MoneyGram's global banking and treasury operations and leading the company's corporate finance functions.
Prior to MoneyGram, he was Director, Underwriting for Hudson Advisors/Lone Star Funds where he was responsible for the underwriting of private equity acquisitions related to financial asset pools and distressed financial institutions. From 1998 to 2009, Angelilli was Senior Vice President, Finance at Centex Corporation. His professional experience also includes tenures with NationsBank Corporation, Chrysler Financial Corporation and The National Bank of Detroit.
Angelilli holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Detroit and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wayne State University.

Greg Hall was named Chief Marketing Officer in October 2022. Hall joined MoneyGram in August 2020 as Chief Customer Officer, where he oversaw global marketing, brand, customer insights and acquisition.
Hall brings over 20 years of direct-to-consumer growth leadership in financial services. Prior to joining MoneyGram, he was Executive Vice President at private equity-backed Dollar Financial Group and Chief Marketing Officer at venture capital-backed Elevate which he helped take public in 2017. His professional experience also includes tenures with HSBC, Capital One and BCG.
Hall holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Sia Zahedi was named Chief Data and Analytics Officer in August 2022 after serving as the Company’s Head of Data and Analytics since September 2019. Sia oversees data strategy and insight-led analytics to help accelerate MoneyGram’s digital transformation and customer-centric approach.
Sia joined MoneyGram in 2015 as Head of Financial Planning and Analysis. Prior to joining MoneyGram, he served as Vice President of Finance for Xerox’s managed services business.
Sia holds a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of North Texas.

Joe Vaughan was appointed Chief Technology Officer in 2021 and leads the adoption of emerging practices and technologies in software engineering, cloud computing, data analytics, machine learning and blockchain.
Vaughan has over 25 years of experience leading globally distributed technology teams and over 19 years in the financial services industry specifically. His professional experience also includes tenures with Capital One, Wells Fargo, American Airlines and Rushmore Loan Management.
Vaughan started his career as a software engineer in the airline industry after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of North Texas. He also has earned a Master of Business Administration from Abilene Christian University where he developed his managerial and leadership skills.

Sara Vassar was appointed Chief Product Officer in August 2021. Vassar brings digital products to market that customers love and implements best practices in design thinking, customer driven innovation and Agile development.
Prior to joining MoneyGram, Vassar was the Vice President of Product Management and Transformation at Thomson Reuters where she oversaw the Audit and Assurance product line as well as programs designed to build the innovation muscle of product teams across the business. Additionally, Vassar led transformation initiatives at Capital One Financial Services and held multiple product and innovation positions within Intuit’s Professional Tax Group.
Vassar holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Tulsa.

Veronica Larson was appointed Chief Information Officer in June 2021. She joined the Company in May 2010 as Senior Product Solutions Manager and was most recently the Head of IT Operations & Service Management. Larson oversees MoneyGram’s Global IT Operations & Engineering teams.
Prior to joining MoneyGram, Larson held product and technology leadership positions in HR technology firms that were purchased by First Advantage and SHL.
Larson holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Business Administration and Management from Hamline University.

Christopher Russell has served as Chief Accounting Officer since joining MoneyGram in November 2020. He is responsible for and oversees the accounting department at the Company.
Prior to joining MoneyGram, Chris spent five years at Kraton Corporation, a global specialty chemicals company, serving as Vice President, Interim Chief Financial Officer, and then Chief Accounting Officer. He also served as Chief Accounting Officer for Prince International Corporation, a producer of engineered additives for niche applications. His professional experience also includes tenures with GE Power and Water and Ernst & Young LLP.
Chris is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Texas.
